Eileen O’Neill Burke Launches First TV Ad in Race for Cook County State’s Attorney

Chicago, IL – Today, Justice Eileen O’Neill Burke released the first television ad in the race for Cook County State’s Attorney, demonstrating growing momentum and support for her campaign.

The new ad features the former prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, and judge speaking directly to voters about her thirty years of experience in the justice system and her vision for a safer, more just Cook County.

The ad may be viewed here. The transcript is as follows:

[O’NEILL BURKE]:

“I’ve spent my career in our criminal justice system.

As a prosecutor, I took on the Catholic Church and held those who abused children and covered it up accountable.

As a judge, I was fair and followed the law.

Now I’m running for State’s Attorney to get illegal guns off of our streets and keep our neighborhoods safe.

Going after the root causes of crime and providing alternative approaches for addiction and mental health issues.

I want a safer, more just Cook County that my kids—and yours—can grow up in.”

The new television spot is part of a significant, multi-week ad campaign that will air across cable and broadcast starting Tuesday, February 6 through Election Day on March 19.
